Yoga Class Descriptions

  • This yoga class includes intention setting, breath work, sun salutations, and a final resting pose. Set the tone for your day by reconnecting to your inner strength through this open-level practice that is suitable for those new to yoga or those wanting a basic flow class. This flowing sequence is accessible for everyday practice and is designed to nurture, awaken, and balance your body, mind, and spirit. Expect a theme, some breath work, and postures (asana).

  • This yoga practice is designed to help you relax, renew, and restore your body, mind, and spirit. This class focuses on gentle movements and supported poses to release tension, improve circulation, and promote deep relaxation. Class begins with some calming breathing exercises to help quiet the mind and prepare the body to move into a series of gentle postures that are designed to release tension in the neck, shoulders, back, and hips. These postures will be supported with props such as blankets, bolsters, and blocks, which will allow you to fully relax into each pose.

  • Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that uses long-held, passive poses to enhance and renew the body's vital energy, prevent joint rigidity and immobility, and nourish the body at the cellular level. This class focuses on stimulating the connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, and facia) and joints, improving the flow of Prana (life energy) through these areas. This is accomplished by passive holding specific postures for 3-5 minutes, using the breath to ease the body further into the pose. Don't let the time intimidate you! The Yin postures are not difficult to hold for these periods and are supported by props to allow you to release and relax. An excellent class for all levels of practitioners.

  • Gentle Flow Yoga is geared specifically for those new to yoga or those who are interested in a gentle practice.  This class incorporates simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements focusing on alignment, strength, balance, and flexibility.  This class is excellent for seniors. No experience or flexibility required.

  • A haven of tranquility where you can experience the profound benefits of yoga while seated comfortably. Whether you're new to yoga, recovering from an injury, or simply seeking a gentle yet invigorating practice, this class is designed to bring balance, relaxation, and rejuvenation to your body and mind.

Using a chair as your foundation, you'll explore a series of mindful movements and breathwork that promote flexibility, strength, and inner peace. Learn the art of conscious breathing, using the breath as a bridge between your body and mind. Cultivate a sense of calm and clarity as you synchronize your breath with your movements.

Experience a range of gentle yoga poses seamlessly adapted to the chair. You'll find comfort and alignment in every movement, from seated twists and forward folds to heart-opening stretches.
